Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Celtic
Bank Of Scotland SPL
Sunday 13th February 2005
Caledonian Stadium, Inverness
Kick Off 2pm, Live On Setanta SPL
So Inverness finally get to play their SPL games at home, after half a season at Pittodrie. The whole thing was a farce from the start and their attendances at Pittodrie summed up the whole affair.
The last time we played away to Inverness, was a 3-1 victory for The Hoops. More recently, at Celtic Park, Celtic came away 3-0 winners.
Though, we don't have to be reminded of the last time we played in Inverness. Days after knocking Liverpool out of the UEFA Cup, a weakened Celtic side fell to Calley by a single goal to nil. Let's not talk about the meeting previous to that.
Morale is high at Celtic these days. The arrival of Craig Bellamy and Stephane Henchoz has certainly put smiles on everyone's faces, and everyone is looking forward to tomorrow's game.
Martin O'Neill has been telling of his selection dilemma he has, with strikers for the game. John Hartson and Chris Sutton have been playing well together recently, and Bellamy's arrival will probably mean that Sutton will drop back into midfield tomorrow.
The next question is who does O'Neill drop to accomodate Sutton in midfield? Aiden McGeady looks the obvious choice, as he is crying out for a rest. He's been superb all season and we have to remember that it is only his first season in the first team.
Inverness are doing alright, they currently sit in eighth place in the league. It looks as though they will stay up and well done to them for doing so. They will be well up for tomorrow's match, the game is a sell out. However, this trend of going to games won't last, and after about half a season their fans will disappear back into their farmhouses. Remember Livingston?
We are top of the league and have the best team in the country. That is a fact. Once again, we should be looking to take care of Inverness as quickly as possible tomorrow. I cannot wait to see Craig Bellamy in The Hoops but somehow I don't think Calley fans will be relishing the though too much.
It's an early start for Celtic fans travelling to the game tomorrow. Tickets have been scarce but I am sure there will be plenty of Bhoys and Ghirls in the home end. Click here to read Celtic FC's weather warning.
Enjoy the game, here's to three points.
Come On The Hoops!
Prediction: ICT 1-4 Celtic
