Celtic v Partick Thistle
Saturday 28th November 2003
Bank of Scotland SPL
Kick off 3.00
What a comedown this is going to be. After facing one of Europe's top sides on Wednesday night, the "only team in Glasgow" arrive at Parkhead to give Celtic some shooting practise.
Thistle are bottom of the league and are a safe bet to get relegated. Despite giving us a hard game at Firhill earlier this year, and showing the huns how to play football for long periods of their game at Ibrox, Thistle have only picked up two points all season.
The word 'formality' springs to mind, but Martin O'Neill will probably choose to rest a few players, after Bayern in midweek. We know that Didier Agathe will not play for the next month, and we could possibly see The King given a break. It's also a chance for Johan Mjallby and Joos Valgaeren to have a run out.
Celtic's scoring form has been wild recently, and in the have scored five goals in our last 3 SPL outings. I can't see anything other than a home win tomorrow, by a few goals at least. We still need to remember that the league went down to goal difference last season, and the more goals we can score the better.
After tomorrow, we play Thistle again in the CIS Cup, at Firhill. But let's get this one out of the way firstly.
Celtic-Mad Prediction: Celtic 5-0 Partick Thistle
