Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell stated the clubs intentions relating to keeping hold of key players remains as strong as ever: "Our priority has always been to try to keep our best players at the club and the board is delighted to support Gordon (Strachan)'s plans for the future by securing Aiden on this long-term agreement."
The young wingers performances during last years Championship winning season were a joy to behold and Peter Lawwell agrees that this is the reason why Celtic want to reward Aiden for his services "Aiden's performances in recent seasons have made him the outstanding player in Scottish football and clearly we are delighted that he has committed his long-term future to the club."
This just goes to show that Celtic are willing and able to not only to produce home-grown talent but also to nurture it and seen it not as a saleable asset, but a more attractive means to success. Lawwell echoed this sentiment:"It is particularly satisfying that Aiden has become such a success having come through the ranks of our youth development programme.
"While he himself deserves immense praise for all he has done, he is also a real tribute to all those people who have assisted his development including, of course, the great Tommy Burns."
Congratulations on your new deal Aiden, you deserve it.
Yours in Celtic
