Late goals from Momo Sylla and Chris Sutton cancelled out a Livingston opener to give Celtic 3 points today. But the news making the headlines is that Henrik Larsson will be injured for a good few weeks after a broken jaw in two places.
Celtic started the game with a few changes to Thursday night's game, McNamara coming in for Lambert, Sylla in for Agathe and John Hartson completley dropped from the squad altogether, a reported dispute between he and the manager was the apparent reason.
Celtic should have been a few goals up early in the first half, Larsson was forced to be substituted after a challenge in the air in the Livingston penalty box.
Larsson's replacement, Shaun Maloney put in a terrific performance, unlike others such as Petrov and Sylla.
Livvy's goal came on the 52nd minute, a mix-up in the Celtic defence between Valgaren, Balde and McNamara allowing Zarate to round the keeper and place the ball into the net.
This forced a comeback for the Champions, and two late goals were scored to win the match.
The equaliser came in the 77th minute. A Shaun Maloney free-kick from the edge of the box bounced back off the post and Momo Sylla was in the right place at the right time to stumble the ball into the net.
The goal seemed to give the home side a lift, and the winner was scored with 5 minutes to go, when Maloney again struck a powerful free-kick, which was spilled by Alan Main in the Livingston goal. Chris Sutton was on hand to smash the ball into the back of the net.
A Joos Valgaeren match-saving tackle was all that was left in the game, securing the 3 points and keeping the Bhoys on track for the title.
However, the news about Larsson is gutting. He will miss a massive period in the season, including games against Stuttgart and two against the Huns. However, whatever the spat was between O'Neill and Hartson, it will have to be resolved and we will simply have to get on with things.
