Gordon Strachan has dropped his interest in Croatian playmaker Niko Kranjcar.
The Celtic boss watched Kranjcar play in a dismal 2-2 draw against Iran on Sunday and came away totally unimpressed with the 21 year olds contribution in the match.
The Hajduk Split midfielder who looked overweight and unfit throughout the game has come in for massive criticism from his Countries press, with front page banner headlines calling him "Fatty" and "Fatherhood Above Coaching" which is a direct reference to his father Zlatko Kranjcar who is the National Coach and has been widely condemned throughout the country for keeping his son as the teams main midfield playmaker. An angry Zlatko Kranjcar said " Niko's place in the squad is guaranteed despite the critics, the team needs Niko and his fellow players have great confidence in him" The Celtic manager looked distinctly unimpredded as he listened to the fans Boo Kranjcar throughout the game
