Celtic to debt free by 2007

Congratulations to the board of Directors at Celtic FC who will announce soon that the club could be debt free by 2007
The board have come under criticism in the past for their stance on paying big wages to players in a environment which could not sustain the wage demands and transfer fees which is the SPL.
In comparison to clubs in England where the likes of Bolton can expect 20 odd million a year from the Media sponsored TV rights, Celtic has had to survive on a mere 1 million from TV revenue. But all credit to the board who have ensured the clubs future with their down sizing and young player policy the club can look forward to a sustained period of growth in the overseas markets.
If Celtic can win the SPL for the next two seasons it will put the club in a position of strength never before obtained and make the attraction of big name players more likely.
When Peter Lawell says that behind the scenes Celtic are one of the best run clubs in the country, you have got to believe him, this is a board that has taken the club to a UEFA Cup Final and financed million pound players like Larrson, Sutton, Hartson, Lennon, Nakamura, Zuraswki, and have moved the youth academy to the building stage. They have brought in the quality manager Martin O'Neil and Gordon Strachan, and have also secured the services of renowned scout Ray Clarke and his European network,
Some very smart business has been done on the free transfer market by the signing of Kenny Miller, Gary Caldwell, and Riordan, all Bosmans Yes, but nevertheless decent quality young players who could give Celtic the edge in the coming season, the club is also linked to a number of real quality players like Denilson, Ono, Kadlac, and Fortune etc and the betting is that Gordon Strachan will obtain the services of at least two more players (if it's not already done) for the start of the season.

footnote, As noon today (thu) Quinton Fortune is At Parkhead and actively in signing talks
