I can sympathise with Crainey in his situation, he has only started 7 games for the first team this season, despite playing regularly towards the end of season 2001/02. I remember him playing out of his skin and earning a Man of the Match performance at Ibrox, in a 1-1 draw with the Sons of Satan.
Stephen Crainey is a good enough defender - that game at ibrox showed this - but with the signing of Ulrik Laursen last summer, it was clear Martin O'Neill did not see him in his plans.
He is also a true Celtic supporter - the joy he shows everytime his team-mates score is clearly visible, and good luck to him in the future.
