Hinkel Affirms Celtic's Title Credentials

Andreas Hinkel has become the latest player to be placed in front of the press in order to confirm Celtic's title Challenge. Whilst I can agree with the PR spin to gain column inches in the middle of a break from action I gain increasingly forlorn at the way we appear to be trying to play football via the media.

I would prefer complete silence at this stage of the season rather than tired clichés from players.

"There is a big challenge ahead of us and we face some very interesting games," Hinkel told the View. "I think we are ready, however. We are all focused, fit and ready for a hard period of the season.

"Every point counts. Every game, every goal, every point…they all count more than ever. All of our matches are important because we are reaching the most important stage of the season.

"I have seen what fixtures we have been given, home and away, but I don't look too far ahead. I haven't been sitting, looking at the fixture list and saying, 'We have two away games, one home game, one away game and one home game'.

"I think about football from game to game. I look at the next game and only after that do I look at what comes after. Right now, all I'm thinking about is the Aberdeen match. Rangers play Hearts the day after, so we will see what happens."

Thanks for that Andreas.

Yours in Celtic
