As I read the Metro paper this morning I see a Headline that states "Boruc 'set to follow Webster" and the following is the article that accompanies a headline bereft (it would appear given the assertive statement) of any doubt or hyperbole. The Mail ran with a similar story yesterday.
"Artur Boruc is examining the possibility of buying out the final year of his Celtic contract, enabling him to move to a club of his choice at the end of the season. The Celtic keeper who has consistently courted controversy, took things to a new level when he declared this week that he considered Rangers players and supporters "the enemy" and refused to shake hands at the end of a recent Old Firm match declaring "I hate that club!" Boruc has already attracted the attention of every major club in Europe with his stunning displays in the Champions League, more recently last Wednesdays heroics against Benfica. He is under contract at Celtic Park until the end of next season, with the possibility of a one-year extension available to either side. Boruc is looking to take advantage of FIFA's rule 17, which states players can leave early under certain conditions after they have served a three year "protection period". Boruc signed for Celtic in July 2005."
The Metro even managed to add in a quote that supposedly had Artur stating " I'm waiting for Celtic to make me an offer. I want to stress that I am happy here but things can change quickly in Football. One wonders how from even the most obscure and unsubstantiated quote that the papers can assert that Boruc is set to do a "Webster"
I think the whole story is a load of Borucs!
