Emilio Izaguirre could miss the start of pre-season training after he had to drop out of the Honduras squad gathering for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He is now set to miss the tournament, to be played in the USA, due to a hamstring injury and Celtic hope he will be able to regain fitness quickly.
This is not the first time Izaguirre has had to drop out of an international squad. He missed a game against Ecuador in February with a similar problem. After that he was then injured by a tackle from team-mate Ki Sung-yong when Honduras met South Korea a month later. Having qualified for last summer's World Cup, Honduras will be confident of performing well at the Gold Cup, where they have been drawn against Guatemala, Grenada and Jamaica in the group phase.
