Roy Keane is expected to open talks this week with the new Consortium at Sunderland with the view of becoming Manager alongside his long time friend and forma Irish Intentional Naill Quinn. Keane who retired from playing football this week due to long standing injuries is said to be very keen at the prospect of staying in football as a coach / manager at Sunderland, whos new Consortium include Irish multi millionaires J P McManus and John Magnier who sold their stake in Manchester United to the American Malcolm Glazer empire.
Keane who achieved his life long ambition of playing for Celtic, got his reward by helping the Glasgow giants to a Scottish double, The SPL championship, a title won by a clear 17 points in front of second place Hearts, and 18 points from third place Glasgow Rangers, and a Scottish League Cup winners medal against Dunfermline, to go alongside his 7 EPL medals, 4 FA Cup medals, 1 Intercontinental winners medal, he has also been capped 66 times by the Republic of Ireland
