Neil Lennon has hailed the influence of his new captain Shaun Maloney after he led the side to a 2-1 victory win Dundee United. Some were surprised to see the captain's armband on Maloney in the absence of Scott Brown, who is unlikely to return until mid-December after breaking a bone in his foot. However, the 27-year-old helped Celtic produce a stirring display at Tannadice as Gary Hooper's late second goal allowed them to continue on their 100% league run ahead of Sunday's Old Firm derby at Parkhead. And Lennon is happy for Maloney to lead the team out in the weeks ahead. |
