Celtic skipper Stephen McManus says that he knows next to nothing about the search for the new manager and, surprisingly, for the captain of the club, he says that he hasn't been keeping abreast of any developments in the pursuit of a new boss.
The bare facts so far are that Tony Mowbray is the name in the frame at the moment and West Brom have been approached officially by Celtic but McManus insists that the players are unconcerned - they will just concentrate on enjoying their holidays and trust that the board will get it right.
"I've not been following what has been happening with the new manager as much as other people." said the big defender. "Obviously you are the same as everyone else, you want to see who is appointed but we will get on with it. As players, you are not looking at your first game, you are trying to enjoy your holidays.
"It was a long hard season." he continued. "And you like to take the whole of June for your holidays so none of the players are concerned whatsoever. There have been a few names that have caught the eye but it is still early days. The good thing is the names that have been mentioned are all good managers and ones that you would look forward to working with. The players are not losing any sleep over it."
"The board have got the last two managers and have got it spot on." said McManus. "If you look at the success Martin O'Neill had, and then Gordon Strachan came in and no one could have expected the success that he had but he done it. So were are in the exact same position as when Martin O'Neill left, we have lost the league and whoever comes in will give the place a lift."
