Mulgrew enjoys every Old Firm meeting

Charlie Mulgrew insists he will never get bored of taking on Rangers despite the prospect of an unprecedented seven meetings of the Old Firm this season. Sunday's Parkhead league game will mark the third derby of the new year. Once the league business is out of the way for the time being, the sides will then turn their minds to the Scottish Cup fifth-round replay and the Co-operative Insurance Cup final in what promises to be a dramatic period for both clubs. But, as far as Mulgrew is concerned, there is no chance of the famous fixture ever becoming boring no matter how many times the clubs come up against each other.

He said: "These are the games you want to play in. Every one will be as big as the last one. They are great games to be involved in and it's even better when you win. They are brilliant. Those are the games you want to play in as a player - the bigger the better - so these games coming up should be good. It is a bit strange playing so many, but it's brilliant. I don't think there could be enough Glasgow derby games this season as the fans treat every one the same as the one before, so we will just look forward to the next one and hopefully we can win them. It would be great if I could play out here against Rangers as I haven't done that before but we are only looking forward to the next game."
Celtic's confidence will be boosted by their comeback in the Scottish Cup encounter at Ibrox, which saw them twice battle back from behind to force the tie to a replay. But Mulgrew claims Neil Lennon's men will not read too much into their recent run of form ahead of the game. He said: "It was a great response after going a goal down and going down to 10 men, so I think we played very well. But we are not getting carried away. We have won nothing yet and at the end of the day we didn't win the game at Ibrox so we are just looking forward to the replay here and hopefully we can win that. I think it's easy to get caught up with all the talk of the good performances but nothing has been won so I think we are just keeping our feet on the ground and taking each game as it comes."
