Former Rangers manager Paul Le Guen has handed Celtic a boost ahead of the New Year game against ‘them’ on the 3rd of January – by allowing Landry N’Guemo to travel late.
The Cameroon Manager is allowed to call up players 14 days prior to his team’s first fixture in the African Nations Cup against Angola on Jan 13th.
However the affable Frenchman has afforded dispensation to his stars that have important Club matches to play by allowing them to travel later than was allowed.
Could it be that this is a little bit of revenge on the part of the Frenchman who allowed his reputation to be tarnished when he took over at the Ibrox Club and was then ousted out after a bust up with Captain Trackie?
"Landry will be free and available to play for Celtic against Rangers.
"I know the importance of this match and I have several other players with important games for their clubs over the New Year.
"For this reason the players will report to our training camp on January 4, so Landry can play for Celtic."
N’Guemo has found quite a good level of consistent form again in recent weeks after his great start to the season stuttered. Now he has regained this and has formed a formidable partnership with Marc Crosas in the centre of the park. This has led many Celtic fans to call on the Board to exercise the option to buy clause that is part of the players loan deal.
The player himself is happy to be able to play in this game. “Of course, I want to play in this match because it is one of our main games of the season and it would be a pleasure for me to help the team win it,” he said on Tuesday.
In other news, Dan Pet-Rescue has been named as a contender to take over the vacant Scotland Job. What a get-it-up-you that would be to Rangers!
Yours in Celtic
