Celtic youngster Scott Forrest is still walking on air after the best week of his fledgling career. Just after helping the club complete the Under-19 League and Scottish Youth Cup double, the 18-year-old scored six minutes into his first-team debut in Saturday's SPL game against Motherwell. The whirlwind week has been all too much for the forward, who continues to pinch himself over what has unfolded. Forrest replaced Aiden McGeady for the final nine minutes of the Motherwell game and still had enough time to score. He said: "I'm still buzzing. I was delighted to score, obviously, but I was delighted first of all just to get on - the goal topped it all off. It's been a bit crazy - the week's all just blurred together. But I think scoring the goal on Saturday was my highlight. Scoring on your debut at Celtic Park... you won't get a better feeling than that. My dad was at the game and he was obviously delighted as well. I also had loads of texts after the game from friends and old coaches all saying, 'Well done'. Now I want to get more of it." |
