Petkov talks to Cybertims

Well if you dont ask you dont get and we sent our super "in yer face" Cybertim to Celtic park this morning to try to get a quote from Ivaylo Petkov and it proved to be easier than we thought. Petkov arrived surrounded by security and was rushed straight into the ground. Despite diving in like a maniac our bhoy on the spot was shepherded away and we thought we had missed our chance as the sunshade wearing Bulgarian slipped our grasp.


However we managed to get hold of Petkov when he reappeared with the rest of the squad (wearing the number 16 training kit) and we asked him if he was going to be a Celt?. Petkov responded with "I need to be a Celtic player" and we then asked him what he thought of Celtic park "Big" was the answer from the Smiling Bulgarian.


Not exactly a long interview (we still dont know how good his English is) but his quote of NEEDING to be a Celt seemed to signify that the player is very impressed so far and he has already expressed that Celtic are his first choice.


Petkov stayed close to Stillian Petrov and rarely left his side but did seem happy to sign the shirts of some lucky fans. And our Cybertim Jack Kennedy displayed all his usual self assured aloofness and preparedness by getting Petkov to sign the back of an orange B&Q receipt. You just can't get the help nowadays.
