The return to league action allows Anthony Stokes to get back to doing what he does best, score goals. He feels his performances have improved since last season - and he has set himself a target of scoring 20 goals to prove it. Stokes developed a fruitful partnership with Gary Hooper in his first campaign at Parkhead as the club won the Scottish Cup. However, the Irishman knows he has to keep getting better at Celtic with increasing competition for places in the first team.
Stokes said: "I think my game has improved. I didn't score as many goals as I did the previous season at Hibs. So hopefully this year I can really knuckle down and get over the 20-goal mark and try and improve on that. That's the sort of pressure every player wants to be under as you know you're at a big club, at a club striving for success and one that wants to do well. It's just something we have to take - it's part and parcel of it."
