As Celtic clinched what will hopefully prove to be the first of their two 'doubles' of the season in the Manager and Player of the year awards, Gordon Strachan took some time out of his busy schedule to speak about life at Celtic.
Once he had walked around the room personally stating to each reporter present 'Get it right up you' Strachan had this to say about Scott Brown and his future in the game, specifically the interest that he has had to fend off from South of the border.
It's not inevitable; I think there are players who stay at clubs for a long time," said Strachan speaking of the chance of Brown playing in the EPL in the future.
"It depends how much they enjoy it. How good he'll be is what we should be looking at."
You kind of get the impression that Strachan sees a modicum of modest pride in Brown's award, turning the player from raw talent into dynamic midfielder in under two seasons must vindicate the managers decision to buy big for Brown.
What next for Brown? The Manager feels that the only way is up for Skoosh.
"It's up himself, really," added the manager. "Through his career, he's worked with good people at Hibs; hopefully, he's worked with good people at Celtic.
"Where he goes, I don't know - it's up to him. But he can play at a really high level - that's for sure."
And finally the manager refused to contemplate a future out with Celtic as he lifted his second manager of the year award in three seasons.
"I like working - that's the best place," he said. "Trust me, when we get through the gates of Lennoxtown, that's when I'm at my best.
"It's always nice to be appreciated because sometimes it's a lonely job and you think the whole world is against you.
"I've got smashing players that I work with day-in, day-out and a fantastic backroom staff.
"They inspire me and I try and transmit that back to them."
Yours in Celtic
