The CSA note with gratification the Chairman's recent statement to fellow
Celtic Supporters. The traditions and values of our Football Club and our
Association for openness and acceptance of all regardless of creed or colour
has made us welcome throughout world football. The Chairman's statement
broadly reflects the position of the Association set out in our
Constitution, which has held us in good stead since our foundation in 1944.
We are delighted to note his comments regarding the rebuilding of the team
with special note of new signings in the pipeline! Hopefully we can look
forward to a sustained challenge both at home and in the rarefied atmosphere
of the Champions League.
The Chairman makes special mention of our behaviour, with particular
reference to those charged with running the game today and asks for our
continued support in the years ahead. Celtic fans are seldom found wanting
when the team needs us.
This weekend sees us make the first trip of the season to Tynecastle and
with a reduced support, in numbers at least, poses some of field problems.
The last fixture at this ground saw an increased Police presence, which
seemed to alleviate the problems we've become familiar with over recent
years at this ground. Hopefully the same will occur again on Sunday and the
game will pass peacefully, off field at least.
Given the political climate today, governed by events elsewhere, please take
care and continue to protect and enhance our reputation.
