What an action packed weekend that was!
First up congratulations to the Green Brigade for cancelling there protest at the recent boardroom reshuffle at Celtic. The embarrassment of the "DR John Red must go" banners would have been too much to take!
Meanwhile down Celtic Park way all is well with the world now that we are back at the top of the league. Milan game and injuries aside this was a pretty important weekend domestically. If a certain Mr Beasley hadnt gone down like a hooker with a rubberneck then we could have been clear at the top of the league. I am being unfair to Mr Beasley though, as the award of Ranger’s "get out of jail" spot kick was a stonewaller according to Mark McGhee! Although I am sure he will change his mind after he sees the replay on TV! The only way this would have been a stonewall award would be if the rules were changed and it was suddenly illegal to run behind a player in the box and touch the back of his shirt with your fingernail, such was the lightness of the award!
Celtic swatted Dundee United with apparent ease, and then decided to let them into the game for a while to make things interesting prior to killing them off at the end. Many thanks to the Holy Goalie for keeping them out in the second half with the score still at 1-1.
Special mention should also go to the ref (who’s name I am not going to mention, such is the contempt I have for him today) for his decision to award a free kick against Scott McDonald for that most heinous of crimes; rolling off the centre half and going clean through! To say this is easily the worst refereeing decision I have ever witnessed is scant consolation.
And onto the one man crusade that is George Galloway; the man who is to Rangers fans what Salman Rushdie was to Muslims! The man who took the top spot on the perma-rage top ten most hated men from Speirs has continued his assaults on all things Orc-ish to great aplomb, with his latest campaign being project BJK!
He was heard to be criticising all those who chant this as "defiling the memory of a Scottish Sporting Legend"
Keep up the good work George.
Yours in Celtic
