Transfer talk of who will be Gordon Strachan's next summer signing continues.
It seems if rumours can be believed that we will be completing the signing of some much needed fire power to help during the upcoming Champions League campaign.
PSV have given Celtic permission to speak with their Dutch international striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink about a possible move next week, with a fee reportedly agreed between the two clubs. Vennegoor of Hesselink, the longest name in Dutch football, appeared for his country during the world cup and has scored 50 times from 121 games in the past four seasons for PSV.
Another striker who has been linked to Celtic is Danijel Ljuboja, VFB Stuttgart's Serbian internationalist. Ljuboja, who is currently training with the German club's reserve side, is in final negotiations to seal at £1.5million switch to Celtic Park. The player has had only one season in Germany scoring 8 times and fell out with his current employers after stating his desire to leave.
Although neither player has been hugely prolific scorers at their current clubs, it would seem they are being signed to create competition for the current strikers at Celtic. Both are tall powerful players that would seem to be used to fill the gap in the squad from the departures of Sutton and Hartson.
