Last week saw Celtic progress into the Champions League Group Stages, as well as pick up 3 vital points in the SPL.
On Wednesday night, the game against MTK Hungaria was always going to be a stroll about for the players. Chris Sutton scored the only goal of the game, to give Celtic a 1-0 victory. The tie, however, was all but over after Celtic's 4-0 victory in Hungary, two weeks before.
All the talk now was about Thursday's draw for the Champions League Group Stages. I must say, I am pleased with the way the draw has worked out. Celtic are in Group A, alongside Bayern Munich, Anderlecht and Lyon, with our first match away to Bayern. This suits us fine as that will probably be our hardest game, and it'll be good to get it out of the way as quick as possible. Celtic are well capable of progressing into the second stage, if not in first place, then second.
Celtic were awarded UEFA's Fair Play award, for the fantastic support throughout the UEFA Cup run last season. This just sums it up - we have the best fans in the world.
On Saturday, Livingston were given the Henrik Larsson treatment. The Swede grabbed a hat-trick in a 5-1 demolition. Livingston showed up the fact that if you play negative, with 10 men behind the ball against Celtic, you will get hammered.
With last night's Champions League signing deadline passing last night, Celtic have only signed one player. Michael Gray has signed forom Sunderland until December, which doesn't really show our ambition to succeed in the Champions League. Once again, we have been let down by the board at Celtic, and I would not be surprised if Martin O'Neill packs his bags.
Celts now have a two week break, then it's Dundee at Dens.
