The newspaper and website headlines telling us that Celtic will announce Tony Mowbray as the new boss on Monday appear to be premature as West Bromwich Albion announced, officially, for the fourth time, that they have not received an official approach from Celtic to talk to their manager.
News agencies, including the BBC, have ran the story - Traynor from the Record has ran the same story as the rest of the pack only he's added an 'exclusive' tag to his for some unknown reason - but there seems to be no evidence, no sightings of heavily disguised former players making their way to clandestine meetings in the Walfrid car park, nothing, zilch, nada to back up the claims that a deal has been agreed. "I can confirm that we have received no approach from Celtic regarding Tony Mowbray." a West Brom spokesman insisted today.
Tabloid stories proclaiming the return of the King of Kings to the club have also been shot down by Henrik Larsson's agent Rob Jansen. It was rumoured that Henrik would take up a coaching role with the Celts as an assistant to Mark McGhee whilst taking his badges through the SFA's courses at Largs but Jansen scoffed at the idea "These rumours are not true at all," said the agent. "Henrik is still playing for Helsinborg in Sweden and it's impossible for him to break his contract or be part of anything happening at Celtic right now."
And so the madness continues...........
