Celtic took a 2-0 lead in the first half, through McParland and Beattie, which Dundee managed to pull back. Beattie then added another two goals to complete his hat-trick, and give the young Hoops the victory.
The game also brought good news in the sense that Paul Lambert came through a full 90 minutes unscaved.
